With Manon Cezaro, we developed during a late summer residency between Himi and Nanto a project exploring the dialogue between sea and mountain, domestic and collective space. In Himi, we drew from the local maritime iconography — fish and crabs from Fujiko Fujio A’s universe — to reflect on how popular imagery merges with everyday gestures and seasonal rhythms.
In Nanto, at the Risogura workshop, fragments of domestic life — objects, vegetables, family paintings — entered our visual language through the making of kites. Suspended between port and home, these kites act as porous surfaces, carrying traces of both places, light, and wind.
